About the Artist Kim Blais

Kim Blais is an emerging ceramic artist based in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, creating under the studio name Kim's Clay. Her journey with clay began at age eight in Eugene, Oregon, where a childhood pottery class first sparked a lifelong love of ceramics.

After decades spent raising a family, traveling, studying anthropology and education, and working alongside Guatemalan artists and craftspeople, Kim returned to ceramics in 2017 through a hand-building class at Emerge. She soon established a home studio and developed a daily ceramics practice rooted in curiosity, craftsmanship, and joy.

Working in wheel-thrown and hand-sculpted stoneware, Kim creates bowls, mugs, vases, planters, flowers, hearts, whimsical fish, ring holders, and sculptural forms inspired by nature and everyday life. Her hope is that every piece invites people to touch, use, smile, and build a lasting connection with handmade art.
