About the Artist Kim Blais
Kim Blais is an emerging ceramic artist based in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, creating under the studio name Kim's Clay. Her journey with clay began at eight years old in Eugene, Oregon, where a childhood pottery class first sparked a lifelong love of ceramics.
After years spent raising a family, traveling, studying anthropology and education, and collaborating with Guatemalan artists and craftspeople, Kim returned to clay in 2017 through a hand-building class at Emerge. Inspired once again, she established a home studio and developed a daily ceramics practice.
Today, Kim creates wheel-thrown and hand-sculpted stoneware including bowls, mugs, vases, flowers, hearts, whimsical fish, gnomes, and sculptural forms. Her work reflects a lifelong connection to nature, travel, curiosity, and the joy of creating objects meant to be touched, used, and loved.
Every piece from Kim's Clay is handcrafted with the hope that it invites people to smile, connect, and celebrate the beauty of everyday handmade art.
